The Hellenic Pasteur Institute (HIP) is the oldest biomedical research center in Greece. In fact, in its founding statute in 1919, the purposes of the newly founded Institute refer to “research”. For the first time, a research-based Public Health support body is being established in Greece.
The EIP was the second Pasteur Institute of the International Network established outside of France. It is one of the founding members of the International Network of Pasteur Institutes, which currently lists 33 Institutes in 26 countries.
