The IFLA Central Region Symposium held in Athens, September 23-26, 1988, was concerned with re examining and re – assessing the relationship of aesthetic and functional values in landscape design – a theme related to some perennial and always essential questions in landscape architecture and every other form of architectural expression. The symposium organized by the panhellenic Association of Landscape Architects and the hellenic society for Aesthetics attracted over 130 participants from twenty three different countries in Europe, Africa, Asia.
