The publication, which accompanies the exhibition of the same title that is jointly organised by the Museum of Cycladic Art and the Alpha Bank Numismatic Collection, presents a different side of coins, which first appeared in the late 7th century BC. During antiquity, the coin, apart from being a medium of exchange, also had a symbolic meaning.
The publication comprises texts divided into eight themed sections that are linked to Money: Transactions, Trade, Art, History, Circulation of Ideas, Propaganda, Society and Banks, as well as information together with rich photographic material concerning 253 objects (coins, vases, terracotta figurines, statuettes, reliefs, inscriptions, etc.).
