The Alpha Bank Historical Archives were established in 1999 in order to preserve the corporate identity and the historical memory of the Bank and the Companies comprising the Group. Their responsibilities include:
a) preserving, classifying and safekeeping the archive collections,
b) facilitating access to these collections both for research as well as for business purposes,
c) seeking new material for the enrichment of the collections and preserving the most significant evidence of the daily operation of the Bank and the Group Companies,
d) supporting publications which refer to the historical course of the Companies comprising the Group as well as exhibitions or other similar events,
e) providing factual information and suitable archive material related to the history of the Group,
f) organising academic meetings.
For more than twelve years, the Alpha Bank Historical Archives have certainly lived up to their name. Currently, they are responsible for a very large amount of archive material which includes documents, photographs, videos and commemorative items reaching to the present day. These pertain mainly to evidence dating from the establishment of the J. F. Costopoulos Bank, the Bank of Kalamata, the Banque de Credit Commercial Hellenique, the Ionian Bank and the Popular Bank, which in the course of time formed Alpha Bank. […]
